Strictly diesel 6.0L "master" kits?

I have an 06 F250 with 65k and am looking to "fix" it and add a programmer for now. Later on, i will be adding injectors and different turbo.

Strictly Diesel Webstore

Anyone have any reason why this is not agood kit/deal? Anything that should be added/removed from that?
Anything else i should do while i have the engine out of the truck? I dont feel like fighting with it inside the truck

If you're in that deep, you might get a branch tube adapter kit to replace the STC fitting. And I'd ask if the standpipe kit that comes with the factory head gaskets comes with the dummy plugs, just to be 100% sure since you can buy individual stand pipes. I assume it would, but we all know what assuming does.

New head gaskets from Ford consist of one head gasket, ten new cylinder head bolts, two new standpipes (one '03 engine style and one late '04 to '10 style, so you'll be left with one not used) and a set of 18mm cylinder head to engine block dowels along with a set of stepped 20mm to 18mm dowels. The set described above is under part number 4C3Z-6051-EB.

For about half the price of that, you can purchase part number 6C3Z-6051-AA if you happen to have a late build 2006 engine that uses 20mm dowels on the engine block. That set includes everything as described above, minus the '03 engine style standpipe and the stepped dowels. It also includes a set of 20mm dowels only.

If you want the rail plugs too, it will have to be purchased separately under part number -W302908 for one plug.

That's what I would do. The best gaskets you can buy for these trucks are the Ford/Navistar ones.

I did not know that. Thanks for that info. Any thoughts on a good EGR delete kit? Or should I do the bullet proof EGR cooler and oil cooler?

Memphis politicians are considering a law to require anybody using their roads to have their inspection sticker.

I don't trust the politicians to not get more greedy than they are now, I'm going with the BPD EGR cooler.

My biggest reason is deletes are Illegal!!

BPD coolers are made very well. They have had very few to no failures. If you ever get a chance to see one in person you will see. They have a lifetime warranty too.

Another thing, IMO, is for years it was thought that you could do a delete and not have any adverse effects. Now, recently, we have discovered that with certin straigies not having the valve plugged in messes with the ops of the fan. So if we are just now finding that out, what else is not having the egr system in place messing with that we don't realize yet.

Plus, even if your state doesn't do emission testing on diesel yet dosent mean that it won't. So if it does then what are you going to do. Hope you can find a place to pass you without the egr cooler, or have to tear the truck back apart to install the cooler back in. Why not just put a BPD one in to start with and not worry about it again.
