Upholstery question
Hi all, I'm making a second atempt at upolstering the arm rests on my 52. I used the 3m spray for vinyl. It stuck just fine, but I couldn't get the winkles out of the vinyl on the corners. I took the old vinyl off the rubber pad and am ready to try again. I've cut out the new vinyl piece and outlined the shape of the pad. (see photo). Is there some trick to make the vinyl easier to shape around the corners?

Pie-cuts and heat gun for the curved areas. Make several pie-cuts in the curved areas of the vinyl. First, glue the main top section. Then use a heat gun to warm up the curved areas. This will make the vinyl more pliable. Heat it from a safe distance. Once the material is pliable, glue the curved section. Do this one by one to each curved section. Apply pressure and hold the material in the curved section while it's being glued. You may need to work the area again with a heat gun to get any smaller wrinkles out. After you're done, doesn't hurt to warm up the areas again and apply pressure.
Keep in mind that vinyl is a thick material so you might not be able to get the curved sections completely smooth.
