Arrow Anyone done Elite coolant bypass?

Dropped my X off at my mechanics place tonight to have the following done over the next week or so and he mentioned ordering the coolant bypass kit from elite diesel for hot spots. Anyone done this? The engine will be torn apart anyway and its only $150?

Whats being done...

-ARP studs
-OEM Gaskets
-Rear and Front main seals
-Oil Cooler
-EGR delete
-Coolant filter
-Fumoto valves on block
-Blue Spring
-Cylinder heads milled
-FICM sent to ED for upgrade and add 35-40HP mod
-Rear diff cover upgrade to 08 version

Anything else I need to do while in there? He mentioned upgrading the nozzles on my injectors but honestly my truck is running fine, just wanting to bulletproof the damn thing as much as possible and maybe be able to run a small tune if I want.

Thanks!
Jake

Whats up with Front and Rear Main Seals??? Sounds like the Moter is coming out or Tranny out at a Minimum????

I went with this EGR Deleate from MKM Fit Good not a single problem

6.0 Upgraded EGR Cooler | MKM Customs 6.0L Ford Powerstroke EGR Delete Kit

And If I had to do again I would use this one from RCD Just cuz I know now I dont have a Scoop in the uppipe

River City Diesel EGR Cooler Delete kit 6.0L

IIRC the Uppipe Scoop was only certain years Im thinking if you have a square EGR Cooler you have a Scoop in uppipe

Make SHURE to tell Him you still want EGR Valve installed and plugged in for Fan Operation and to keep the PCM Happey The Mechanic probably knows all about it But MAKE SHURE you Both on SAME PAGE Meaning Deleate EGR Cooler and KEEP THe EGR Valve Installed & plugged in

Thanks Benny. I bought the sinister EGR delete, I was under the impression that my early march born 03 won't pull a code with EGR gone? None the less if it does I will just get a tuner to over ride. He pulls the engines out because he does not lift the cabs (liability). He is an on call diesel mechanic for Caterpillar and a Ford nut on the side. When I stopped over today he had four 6.0's on the ground with boxes of APR studs sitting on top ready to go, his toolbox was 15' long..I about **it myself!

the You might have Early STC turbo oil supply line and so you will want the Newer Oil Cooler Housing to be Able to do the updated Turbo Oil Supply line

They changed IIRC Mid March 03

The best way to tell is if the Turbo oil supply has the Bolt at the OIL Cooler housing end

If it has the Bolt you have the Updated Version

No, I mean circulation hoses for coolant. You drill some holes in the heads and below thermostat housing, keeps high spots in heads cool to avoid warping. Ordered from Elite Diesel. Just wondered if anyone had any experience with them.
