Just to update the thread so that no one thinks I forgot. I have all the parts sitting on my bench, its been too busy at the shop to work on my own truck. Im not sure if I will get this done before my vaction to WildWood or not, Im hoping too but we shall see.

So 155cc Injectors, Power Max, New Tunes, Stan Pipes and Dummy Plugs waiting to go in, and if I feel real ambitious I have a new STC fitting too.

Hope everyone had a great Memorial Day Holiday.

Dooooo it....

I would definitely do the new and updated STC fitting; this way you don't do all that work, then have it fail on you not long after you get the truck back together

Then I think to myself if I go that deep I may as well do head studs too. Its a never ending cycle.

I need to track down an intake manifold if I do the STC, the dealer stripped out my elbow holes beyond repair. I heli coiled them but they destroyed it so bad they arent holding by much.

Anyone know where I can find one (Cheezit?)

With all that equipment, I thought you already had studs

I hate to be Devil's Advocate, but IF it were me, and I'm just saying if it were me, studs would be going into that truck. EVEN IF it I had to scrape, beg, borrow, steal, to do it, I would.

When you're that far into the motor and don't want to have to do it again, do it right the first time...

Been there, done it, G-L-A-D GLAD! I did it right the first time.

I totally hear ya. My plan was to do everything this winter when the truck sits alot. My wife decided she was hot to trot on a new 5er and we purchased ahead of schedule. I have been running my truck the way the sig reads for almost 55k and not a head issue yet...I say yet quietly.

Its has been on the list of to do's for a long time but there just never seems to be enough time for me work on my own truck. So with that said my goal was to repair the leaking injector(s) with the new set, install the turbo now, replace the stand pipes and dummy plugs tow the 5er a few times and then go to hell with it.

Im kinda pushing it with the injectors and turbo becuase we are going away the week of the 4th. A part of me says that I should leave the truck the way it is and fix it after that trip, only becuase its about a 400 mile trip for me and Im not sure that I will be able to put some miles on it before we leave.

The other trips we have planned are within 150 miles of home so god for bid something happens my insurance will cover a tow back home.

Im in a Pickle.
