So i havent had this truck for very long and the only quark that it seems to have is every so often after i have been driving for a bit it will die on me when i let off the gas. It has the 351W (5.8L V8) in it. It doesnt shake, smoke, spudder, or bog down when it does it or any other time for that matter. So im thinking fuel problem, cause if i throw it in P and then turn key full off and then back to ON and leave it for a sec and then crank it, it starts right back up and continues on its way.

Anyone have this problem or know what it could be? It does have a decent exhaust leak on its manifold i havent got to yet it that matters but cant see it being compression prob. Any help would be awesome!

 

not sure on a gas motor, but if it was a diesel i could tell you in a heartbeat. crankshaft sensor. same symptoms on all 3 of my 95's

 

Check for codes before throwing money and parts at the problem. Once you have the codes we can help you figure them out. That exhaust manifold leak is not helping the situation either. Any leak upstream of the O2 sensor will make the PCM think the truck is running lean which in turn will make it dump in more fuel. Your gas mileage will be affected accordingly.
