I saw him for the first time in my life last August at the Shelby museum. Glad I did it. Great racer, builder.

One of my heros. I met him once at the old skunkworks in Las Vegas. Got a personal tour. Truly a fine gentleman.

Carroll Shelby dead at 89

Let's all say a prayer, for the Shelby family, and the Ford Family, for the loss of a living legend The One and only man in the black hat Carroll Shelby!

Although loss is never easy, this man had many amazing accomplishments, and has built a legacy to be proud of, he has offered so much in the car industry and touched most hot rodders lives in someone with some of his amazing creations. He may be gone but will never be forgotten.

We definitely need to celebrate his life!

May his family be comforted in this time of loss but also be proud that he was in their lives!

My sister's father in Law, was an Engine mechanic for Shelby back in the day, in Research and Design. He would tell some pretty funny stories about Mr. Carroll Shelby, that we enjoyed hearing. He passed away this past summer, he was also 89 at his death. They were men with a devout passion for speed,Power, and they were die hard Ford Guys...

RIP to the King of Cobras, Mr. Shelby

Good thread Gentlemen. We've lost a great American. He was tough, that's for sure. He's had dangerous health issues longer than I can remember, but like a good Ford, kept coming back strong.
