Are you going to mount the front spring hanger on the rear higher to lower the rear end?

I am not planning on moving it up for now. I have the rear "short and smooth" reverse eye springs and extended shackles and am just going to flip the front hanger (per mid fifty that should equal about 5" of drop). I have not put the engine and transmission in yet, and am not sure where the front end height is going to end up, but the last thing I want is for the rear to be lower than the front! I want it to have some rake to it, so I guess in reality I am just hoping that this combo gets it about where I want it. My plan is, until we see the real deal, I am going to hold off on moving the front hanger up on the chassis...

Flipped the front hangers and used grade 8 bolts to bolt them back on. Then my dad held the springs while I pushed the pins through. My brother is supposed to bring the rear end on Monday.
Many of you probably look at my truck and think I should clean it, paint it, etc. I agree it would be great to blow it apart and paint everything, but I just don't have the space (as you can see) so this is sort of a trial run "let's see if I can get it going" type build and then one day, hopefully, I'll take it all back apart and do it right. Since everything I'm doing is essentially bolt-on, that's the plan.

Got the 9" from the '69 F100 bolted in place, using the brackets and shock lower shock mounts from a '59 F100 and the u bolts with my Mid Fifty rear spring kit. My dad helped me set the bed back on to get an idea of ride height. It'll be nice for people to see real world application of the products that we all love from our favorite vendors like Mid Fifty F100's.

Remember that the rear has the "short and smooth" reverse eye springs, the "extended y hangars" (longer shackles) and I only flipped the rear front spring bracket.

The front is a 3" drop axle from Sid's Dropped Axles and "Down and Forward" springs. I still don't have an engine or transmission in the truck.

Mock up tires are 215/75R15 in the front and 235/75R15 in the rear.

I am very happy with the stance and look of the truck right now, but may have to try to get the rear a little lower if the front drops too much with the added weight from the engine and transmission...if so, I will probably give the "adjustable front hangers" a try (and move it up on the frame) that Mid Fifty sells.

Either way, I'm very close to the look I want with all bolt on parts!

I remember the original height from my 55. They are up there.

The front and rear drop give it a nice stance. The rake is just about right not too much but enough to say "What's Up".

Keep up the work slowly but surely is what I am working on.... lol

Haha, thank you, I appreciate the encouragement!

Next up is the brakes...which is just a matter of putting it all on...

Don't ever paint that truck! That is about the coolest truck I have ever seen, and right now the patina thing is HOT.

That's a good looking rig and I love the stance

Thank you!

The main reason I bought this particular truck was because nobody had really taken a stab at it yet. I like that, besides the front sheet metal, it feels like I'm removing/replacing most things for the first time.

Luckily the patina is in for now...one day I hope for some paint

Gracias Capelo. Dices que la suspension de mi 56 es paracida a la tuya? Tienes las springs originales? Y que dices de las ruedas (llantas)?

Siempre me gusta ver tu progreso. Gracias por seguir mi proyecto!
