replacement of oil cooler and what else?

2003 93k eot 224 fwt 186. After 20 min run at 70mph on flat ground. So looks like oil cooler replacement. I will also be doing a egr delete & Blue spring upgrade. Anything else while its in shop? This truck is about to break me! But she is still cheaper than a newer one! Its a love hate relationship for sure! Lol

I believe you can still do them on an 03 but I could be wrong. Banjo bolts might be a good idea

Thanks cheezit! Am I on the right track with oil cooler and egr? I honestly am not concerned with studs since Im not going to tune, and my camper is only 6k fully loaded... on the sgii all other readings are g2g as from what I have read. Im going with the egr block/weld is that a good option? My new mechanic quoted me a little less than 1k for oil cooler and egr block/weld. He is also going to clean turbo & intake. Does that sound right?

Well thats Fine BUT being a 2003 the really early ones had a Snap-to-connect Turbo oil supply line instead of the Later Bolt connection oil line

If you have the Snap-to-connect turbo oil supply line then you must get the updated oil cooler Housing that will receive the bolt

Look at my truck build date in signature It was like a Week prior to the build date of my truck they started installing the bolt one

this^^^^^is the reason I know my truck Build Date

Install some Fumoto Valves on the block for draining later. Send in your FICM to Ed @ FICM repair while its down and have him upgrade it for you.

and yes 1K for all that is a good deal

I was quoted 1200.00 at the dealer just for oil coooler replacment 1 year ago

Just make shure he TIG welds the egr cooler as its Stainless Steel anything but tig weld will eventully break from the Hot/cold cycles

And also remember your 2003 has the Round EGR Cooler and there the Good Ones so you could just leave it alone

I choose to Egr Deleate as there is alot more Benifit with a Deleate I gained atleast 1mpg and the sensors in the intake stay clean now and the Biggie is it CANT FAIL if its GONE

Make shure you flush cooling system really good I suggest you do it as most shops dont have time to do multiple flushes some of these trucks need give it VC-9 cleaner the works reverse flush every thing stick a hose in it Just flush its GUTS OUT

Put a Coolant filter on it and change the thermostat

I did everything mentioned and my 03 has been Good since

And MAke SHURE they leave the EGR Valve installed and plugged in for fan operation and to keep PCM Happey

Mine rolled out of the Kentucky plant on Thursday Feb 20, 2003.
Probably can add that to the "You might own a 6.0 if ...." thread.
If you know the exact day it was built you might own a 6.0.

So you should have the snap-to-connect turbo oil line????
