lookin for tires
#4
A 5 year old tire that's been sitting will more than likely have weathered and contain cracks throughout. I'd question that route as the tire may be unsafe. That's the "dad of 4 kids" comin' out in me, but I'm sure you're aware of the risk. Craigslist may offer up some good opportunities, but finding the exact tire you're looking for is tough. Are you looking for a mud terrain, all terrain, etc?
I'm a big fan of Toyo M/T's, had a set of 37's on my 2000 and will probably get a set of 35's when my stock Michelin's wear out. I think right now the 37" Toyo M/T's are going for about $460 a tire. They ride nice and you can expect alot of miles out of them. I was probably on track for about 40k miles out of my last set, sold the truck before I needed new ones though.
As Tylus mentioned, it might be best to save up a bit more, your options will open up tremendously.
