adding a third row seat

I have a 2008 expedition with no third row seat. In place of the third row, I have a storage compartment, where the seat would fold into. Can I add a third row seat, or is that something that requires a great deal of alteration?

Adding third row seats is really easy. You just need couple o' things...

Seriously, I have no idea. Is there anyway that you can get into one with a 3rd seat and compare what's there to yours? I know you'll need seatbelt assemblies.

I doubt it. Are there brackets? Whats under the cargo boxes and carpet? The seats themselves will cost you a fortune unless you find some at a junk yard.

Hey did you have any luck with this? I have an 08 without third row seat and found one in a junk yard for $350 shipped. I want to make sure I request everything from junk yard to mount and make safe. I believe the seat belts are connected to the rear columns in back and run down to floor board. I'm trying to locate one to look at or find pictures to figure it out. Thanks.

The seat may need to be welded or have brackets welded to the floor. I don't think this is just a bolt on. What is under your carpet/storage area? Do you see mounting locations.

Yes at least the front row has holes for mounting

When I pulled the area apart I saw the mounting holes for the front supports. The mounting pattern didn't make sense until after looking at several pictures. Then I realized that the 60/40 seats chairs have an asymmetrical mounting pattern.
I'm worried about the seat belts but removed the back column plastic and see areas for mounting the seat belt supports. On some pics I see that the roof is also a mounting point. I don't want to have to remove the whole inside top. Would be a pain.
