bed protection ideas

What do you guys use to protect the bedsides when working out of the truck?

I was thinking of cutting 2x12's to line the inside bed sides. Any other thoughts or pictures?

I was thinking of using diamond plate behind the bed rail and a piece of angle at the bottom behind the diamond plate riveted to the angle for strength know what I mean

i was thinking of using small bolts with caged nuts. i want mine to be removeable to clean out behind them if need be
