Air Conditioning Puzzle

A couple of years back the air went to full hot for whatever reason. No AC. I guessed a stuck damper, but didn't get around to looking into it further. Then the alternator died in front of the Ford dealership, so I had them install a new one, and they replaced the battery at the same time. The air conditioning miraculously healed itself, and functioned perfectly for another year. I guessed it was a computer issue at that point. Now it's back to full heat again, and I can hear the damper doors moving, but am at a loss as to how to proceed.
Any thoughts? I'd take it back to Ford if I weren't out of work...

Do you have the automatic climate control? If so;

First make sure your fuse is OK. Then see if you can modify the heat output on a cool morning with the truck warmed up. If your compressor clutch doesn't activate you will never get cold air so is the line cold. Can you hear the clutch engaging the compressor. If your noting getting cold, then hook up a bottle of 134 with a gauge on it to the low and fill it to specs. This may help, if you have developed a severe leak you will loose it rapidly. A severe leak is unlikely, but not impossible on your new a machine. A compresser pump and thourough going over of the AC would than be necessary. It's probably an electrical problem but maybe?
