2003 Eddie Bauer Expy 5.4L

I have been having this issue more and more frequently, when I try and start my Expedition I get a buzzing noise coming from the fuse panel (at the passenger kick panel) I turn the key off and on a few times then the buzzing noise goes away and the vehicle starts. Not sure what this is could it be one of the relay switches going bad?? The Check advtrac message is popping up on the dash display and the advtrac button on the console is off (even if you push the button) We are getting to take a road trip to Iowa and I need my Expy to be in tip top shape. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Sounds like a bad relay to me. The next time it does it, leave the key as is and go feel in the fuse box to find which relay is buzzing.

Of course its not doing it now but I don't want it to leave us stranded, is there another way to check it, and is there a direct corralation between the starter relay and the advtrac?

There really is no way to check it unless it's acting up at the time. If for no other reason...you don't know which one is the problem at this point.

I changed two relays, pcm and the starter relay, couldn't tell which one was buzzing. They all felt like they were. So I changed the teo that made the most sense. What would cause the advtrac to turn off(besides pushing the button to turn it on and off)
