460 mpg (miles per gallon)
I know I'm not the only person wanting to know how to improve this. Please post how many mpg's you are getting and what improvements you have done. So far I have add Hedman headers, crossover, 3'' straight pipe, MSD coil and Dist. Also deleted the EGR, and fresh air pump. I'm getting about 9-10 mpg.

You're doing good. Does it have 3.73 or 4.10 gears?
Mine was a '96 SC dually, 4.10/e4od and got right at 10 mpg regular daily driving. Back then gas was cheap so I didn't really care. Did put a Dynomax muffler on it. I also installed a Vortech supercharger later on, but don't recall getting any worse mileage. It's been years ago, and didn't really care about mileage then.

Ohhhh, you and the goat. Nothin' like dreamin' BIG!!!
The open trailer will help big time. A 460 doesn't really mind the weight, it's the added wind resistance of a box.
Pull the intake tubes apart, the center plastic piece has restrictors built in. Cut them off, leave enough to hook tubes back on.
Where's the timing? 10* is what I ran mine before the blower came around.

The truck is all stock beside what I just did. I haul the gto with my 04 250, but my wife drives it now to haul her horses. I picked up this truck back in aug for 2300. Hoping I can build it up to haul the gto and my 84 cadillac. But if I can't get decent mpg, I'm going to sell it and get a power stroke.

Save your money and get a PSD now.
I had a new 2000 PSD, CC, DRW, 4.10/6 spd and it got 15 on the highway(empty), and about 11~ pulling my 40ft trailer(14K lbs). Stock, no tuner, straight piped.
My '96 460/4.10/e40d was 10 empty/7 pulling
my '99 V10/4.30/5 spd was 12 empty/9 pulling trailer
Sure miss those old trucks. That '96 was my favorite, especially once I put the supercharger on it!!
It ran 15.8's back then and back then the Lightnings were only going mid 15's. 5-6# of boost did WONDERS. But, gas was only a buck....
