trans swap

i have a 1990 f150 with the 5.0 it in with a e4od and imma swap a new e4od out of a 1995 what all would i have to change

I am NOT 100% sure but I believe the only differences between those trans are internal. So, you shouldn't have to change anything.

Externally they should be identical. I can't think of anything else you would need to swap over.

the way the mlps units bolt up are different

The solenoid pack on the 1995 and up vehicles are electrically different from the earlier versions. Ford moved the protection diodes from the solenoid pack to the PCM. Using a later model solenoid pack on an earlier truck will leave your PCM open to possible damage.

The diodes are used to suppress the voltage spike when power is removed from the solenoids in the solenoid pack. You can swap your old solenoid pack on to the newer transmission.

so it will just bolt up and be fine? cause i already bought the transmission earlier since it appeared to be in great condition
