need help

I have a georgie boy class A motorhome that we had just bought. It is a 1987 on a 1986 ford E series chassis with a 460 I have been doing tons of work to it and got it running great. I have rebuilt the carb on it which is a holley 600 cfm. We took it out over this weekend for its maiden voyage...for us anyway and when we got home i had noticed that the motor was idaling high about 1200rpm in neutral. when we bought the motorhome and i started to work on it it had vacuum leaks and vacuum hoses not hooked up to the air filter so i fixed all the leaks and hooked them all up the air filter. The motor is stock minus headers and exhaust. motor has 59k on it. i am kinda confused to why the rpms went up thought the electric choke might have been stuck or something but that dont appear to be it. what do you guys think it could be????? the smog pump sound like its getting noisey but i dont think that would affect rpm...any info would be great

thanks

Gary
