How do I replace this thing, my truck got vandalized(someone stole the oil drain plug????!!!!) Causeing me to loose all my oil....i get in and drive it for a couple minutes, no oil...knocks like crazy, then it died....i let the clutch out (diesel habit) and it started again...then died...at that point i called a tow company.....now the truck sits in my garage and i am driving my Diesel as my DD....

 

Sooo why are you changing the belt? Man you must live in a tough neighborhood

 

Here's a link on timing belt replacement procedure but from your description of knocking kinda sounds like that engine is toast.
