1984 ford ranger engine
my brother has an 84 ford ranger with a 2.8 v6 2wd with 312,000 miles on it, the motor is starting to wear out, it uses 2 quarts of oil every 150 miles, he found another ranger with a 4 cylinder and wants to put that in his ranger, will a 4 cylinder match up to the wireing or do we need to change anything?

Is the 4 cyl a carbed engine, if so the wires can be worked out, I don't think the trans will interchange though, ports on the radiator will be different.

Rebuild the 2.8 or find a good J-yard 2.8 to replace it with..........much less hassle.
