So how does this truck compare to others for power. I'm a new owner and just figuring things out. It does have a banks sidewinder on it. got a bad rear tank but it has an auxillary tank in the bed approx 100 gals. a few ticky tacky body and wiring items then it should ready to roll.

with that setup,it compares to the stock 94-97 psd trucks as long as she's kept properly tuned.
these banks turbos are some pretty hot tickets.just put one on mine, and it completely makes the idi engine.
gone are the days with WOT kicked down in 2nd gear revving 3500 rpms to go uphill 45 mph when heavy.now i can speed up them if im not careful at just 2-2500rpm in 3rd.

nice little read for ya:

I'm in the same boat, picked up an old IDI with Banks that seems well kept and am looking forward to getting it ironed out. At least in your 92 you have an overdrive transmission - mine is older and is a three speed auto with a 4.10 rear end. Happy spot is about 40-45mph, I think I have to do something before trying cross country .

Cheers,
- Jeff

Thanks guys for the reply, I'll be pulling a 38' Prarie Schooner and wasn't sure how she'd do. I think it weighs about 11,500 Lbs.
