Replacement Radio for a 1963 Ford Truck

Hey, I have a 1963 Ford Truck with the stock AM Radio. Does anyone know of a company that makes a replacement radio that will fit into the dash without cutting it? AM is great and all but it would be awesome to have FM and a MP3 jack. I have looked all over the internet and can't find one. Please help me!!!

I just mounted an AM FM,MP3 CD player in my dash, that has a remote... I mounted the remote into the center console that I made, so the only time I have to access it is to change out CD's. I still hve the working Am radio in the Dash, it is the Decoy, as break in's are common in the area.... No one ever goes into my truck with that old radio no one wants..

No other radio will fit without cutting a hole in the dash. The AM radio chassis is separate from the speaker and outer bezel/dial. There are three small round holes in a straight line on the dash, left/center/right.

The chassis mounts to the dash from the backside using a bracket. Its two shafts poke thru the left/right holes, the bezel is then placed onto the shafts, nuts are placed on the shafts retaining the bezel to the dash/chassis.

The ***** are then placed on the shafts. The center hole is for the chassis' bulb to light the dial. The speaker mounts to the dash using a bracket.

Hemmings Motor News / Services Offered section. There are peeps listed in this section that can modify original radios by adding features they never came with.

The problem is, the AM radio's face plate doesn't have enough space to allow most mods.

Buy a new AM/FM/CD/MP3 radio that has a remote control, mount the puppy into the glovebox. Install the speakers in a location where radio thieves cannot see them.

Keep the original AM radio in situ.

The Raiders left LA years ago, after Al Davis screwed the city of Irwindale out of 10 million bucks, moved back to Oakland.

The Rams are also long gone, moved to St. Louis.

A week or so after the Rams left, I was talking to a guy at an airport while waiting to board a plane. When he found out I lived in LA LA Land, bragged his home town of St. Louis had just snagged a new football team.

I said, you didn't snag a football team, you snagged the Rams. Back then, they were pathetic.

At this time, we have two multi-billionaires planning to build two new football stadiums. 'Course we don't any teams to play in these stadiums.

One mega-buck has hinted the Vikings may move here. T'other has hinted the Chargers, another team that was formerly located here.

No more Al Davis to worry about maybe the Raiders will move back to LA and leave the 9ers to rule nothern Cal. I kind of remember the Rams being a pretty hot team at one point. Produced players like Merlin Olsen, Fred Dryer, and if my memory serves Rosevelt Greer. Roman Gabriel was the arm but man that was a long time ago. Ya I forgot that the Raiders had moved again but they have been so out of it lately I havent paid much attention to them. I dont think much of the league has either.

I think after Chuck Knox ( Ground Chuck) left the Hawks he went down and coached the Rams for a year or two. Maybe he was there before he went to the Hawks. Best teams the Hawks had were under Chuck Knox.

I beg to differ N.D. Remember the radio from a 1964 Dodge truck I pulled. Identical mounting as the radio from the 61-66 ford trucks. Here's the picture. The face plate is a little different but it mounts the same, same holes and everything.
<TABLE border=0 cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 itxtNodeId="29" itxtHarvested="0"><TBODY itxtNodeId="30" itxtHarvested="0"><TR itxtNodeId="33" itxtHarvested="0"><TD bgColor=#dfdfdf colSpan=2 itxtNodeId="44" itxtHarvested="0">: </TD></TR><TR itxtNodeId="32" itxtHarvested="0"><TD bg*************** colSpan=2 align=middle itxtNodeId="46" itxtHarvested="0">
</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>
The face plate will fit on either box.

(sigh) You beg to differ, but you are unclear on what the OP is asking about.

This Dodge AM radio is basically the same as the Ford AM radio. What the OP is asking about is a radio that contains more features than just AM that will fit into the dash without cutting a large hole.

There isn't one.

Look at the dial, do you see an AM/FM band? I don't either.

This Dodge AM radio, as I just said (post 13), is basically the same as the Ford AM radio.
