Factory subwoofer upgrade?

I installed some new Infinity speakers (thanks to darren32 ) in my 2012 F250 CC and the mid to high range is fantastic, but they lack bass.

So my first question, do all the 2012s have the 8" sub? I've got an XLT with the standard stereo system and SYNC.

Is the factory head unit/amp capable of running an upgraded 8" sub? If so, what should I be looking for? Will it be a simple swap like the door speakers?

If not, what's the best way to get some more bass without swapping out the head unit (not an option right now) or breaking the bank?

I'm not an audiophile by any stretch so I don't want to go crazy. I'd like to keep it as simple and cost effective as possible, but I do enjoy good quality full sound and I'm definitely willing to invest a little time and money to do it right.

Thanks!

If you have the factory sub its behind the passenger side rear seat and it has its own amp. If you dont have it you dont have it you will need to add an amp and sub

Good question, I would be interested in knowing this as well.
Also, anyone have any idea how much power the stock amp is putting out ?

Yeah, I get that, but is the stock amp setup capable of running an upgraded 8" sub, like a JL Audio W3V3 for example.

Yes, it would be nice to know what upgraded 8" sub you could replace the OEM 8" sub utilizing the OEM housing and amp.

I put one of these in my 2006 (did the infinity speakers at the same time) and it sounds AWESOME -

Really easy to wire in and it fit perfectly behind the seat (I moved the stock jack and put it there). Best price was on Amazon -

NP B&L, glad you could make use of them.

There is nuttin' anywhere on the factory sub amp that says what power it is.

But would be easy to throw a new sub in the box and see how it sounds.

If anyone happens to need a factory sub/amp let me know, I got one that is heading for the garbage soon.

Thanks
