need some help on my right-side drag link and outer tie rod end replacement
hi guys,
i've scoured this site and over google, but most results feature other year models. mine is an 05.
passenger side drag link and outer tie rod end needs replacement.
from what it looks, the drag link is clamped / screwed on to a bar. there is a clamp on the bar with a gap, and this drag link bar has a metal guide piece. question: is the metal guide on this drag link bar supposed to be towards the back of the gap or towards the front? right now, it's leaning towards the front of that gap. should i be worried? the outer drag link on right-hand side is not seated in the hole right now. it's leaning at an angle.
also, the outer tie-rod end will need to be replaced. bushing looks shot.
does anyone have the exact procedure how i can get this done? i'm planning on doing this asap cos i'm getting paranoid. any torque settings?
i know about that counting the slots within the screw threads to be exact. speaking of screw threads, with regards to the outer tie-rod end and outer drag link, is it screwed onto the bars or is it just slotted into the bars, and i tightened the corresponding screws? if slot and tighten, how much torque?
btw, i was told that i can reuse the nut and the nut cover that the drag link goes into, and the cotter pin goes into that afterwards. is this true? if not, does anyone have a part number where i can buy those nut and nut cover?
thanks in advance, guys. i've never done this procedure before, so i'm gonna be hands-on in this one.
