Alternator noise

My alternator has been making a loud screeching noise and its almost unbearable to listen to at high rpms. I'm assuming the bearings are about shot. Can the bearings be replaced or am I better off just getting a new alternator? I've never dealt with alternators before.

Dealers choice, either replace it or get it rebuilt. Either get a high quality one new with a warranty, or get a rebuild with a warranty. Save yourself the headache.

I would say get a new one....if your alt is shot...spend the ~150 bucks and get a 3G....
