Flowmaster Super 44 vs 50 HD on Ex V10

Hi all,

Would anyone know what happened if I replaced my current Flowmaster Super 44 with a Flowmaster 50 HD?

Fyi, my 2004 Excursion V10 4x4 has 4.56 gears, Banks PowerPack (Banks cold air intake, Banks headers, Banks y-pipe, and the Banks Automind programmer), a Flowmaster Super 44 single-in-dual-out (stock cat has remained in place), and Moto Metal MO951 Chrome wheels, 20x10, with Nitto Trail Grappler tires 35x12.5x20.

The reason for my question is that I don't like the droning, which occurs when driving about 70 mph and faster. Would that droning disappear if I replaced the Super 44 with a 50 HD? Would acceleration suffer when starting off?

Any tips are most welcome, thank you!

Look at a 50SUV or 70BB2. Both have the extra chambers to help with drone.

I actually have a used single in dual out 50SUV muffler I took off my dads truck that is still in good shape.(he went to a 70BB2 single 3" pipe) If you want to try it pay the shipping and it yours. The inlet is single 3" and each outlet has been expanded to fit inside a 3" pipe.

dear dkf,
thank you very much indeed for this kind offer! however, you might know from earlier threads I posted that I live overseas. so I would have to pay you per wire transfer (pay pal does not work). this is technically extremely easy but I would need your bank account details, which I am 100% convinced you won't give to a foreigner. another solution would be that a friend of mine who lives in Atlanta, GA, pays you directly. but first, let me find out the diameter of the inlet/outlets of my flowmaster 44. again, thanks a lot!

Paypal doesn't work? That's strange, I do business on eBay and at least as of a year ago or so, people from outside the USA could use Paypal without a problem.

Yes, it does not work for me. For certain reasons that don't need to be specified here I can't use paypal.

I would love to hear a sound clip of the Flowmaster 44, I have the 50 SUV and its just to quiet for me, oddly enough it seems to get quieter the faster I go, and I mean that as in 2000+ RMP to redline is quieter that idle to 2000 RPM. I get no drone what so ever, but if I am romping on it it just sounds stock..
