You should start your own thread for "on board air " and do a search.
You can use an a/c compressor but to make it last you need to run an oil separator with a drain plumbed back in to the suction side of the compressor. The reason being is to recharge the compressor with some PAG oil or the compressor won't live long. I have an elaborate system on my rock crawler samurai that bumps up the throttle and turns off @ 150psi. plumbed into a 6 gallon tank using a stock A/C compressor and pressure switch. You can find plenty of info and parts here: ::Kilby Enterprises::

Appreciate the info I just didn't know where to start as far as if it could be done and if it weighs out the cost I'll just get an onboard air compressor system kit

For just air bags it's probably to much work and money. I run air ratchet and air impact guns off of my system for trail repairs.
Sounds like you'd be fine with a Viair compressor. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000X9...-zL&ref=plSrch
