Aftermarket Speed Limiter that doesn't affect warranty

Hey guys,

We operate a fleet including many Ford trucks.

I'm looking for a speed limiter that can be installed to keep our vehicles below 65mph, but that does not void warranty or cause problems if the truck is taken in for service.

We have tried the Intermotive Speed Sentinel II http://www.intermotive.net/Installation%20Instructions/SS/SS502-CND-04%20(small).pdf on some Econolines, but this is not compatible with MY2011+ Super Duty with cruise control. This unit has worked out well since it can be easily removed from the system in case troubleshooting is required.

Do any of you have any suggestions or experience with a similar system that can be used on new Super Duty? I have searched the forums, but didn't find anything similar to this.

Thanks

cant you just take it to the dealer and have them reset the speed limiter to 65 or 70mph? Seems easy since any aftermarket tuner can do the same thing?

The 2011 should have the MyKey system integrated from the factory, you can program it to a maximum speed of 80 mph and have the warning chime come on at 65 mph. Don't know if that's good enough, but it is something you should be able to program yourself.

Thanks for the replies. I went over to our upfitters and played with the MyKey on an F-250 XL of ours they had.

All the numbers are metric equivilants of what Speicher suggested - limited speed of 130km/h and the ability to chime a warning at 105km/h.

One more question - if we buy an extra key, can we have a master + 2 "slave" MyKeys configured at the same time?

Thanks again!

Yes, you should be able to program multiple MyKeys/Slave keys. Keep in mind if you loose the Admin/Master key you cannot disable the MyKeys you have programmed in. You would have to take it to the dealer to have the remaining keys reprogrammed to Admin keys.
