Ok guys, well We ended up going with a 2011 Edge over the Escape. Gets 25 mpg. V6 with tons of power. She is happy now. Got an extended warrentee for6 yrs 75k miles so the 6 speed should not be an issue. Thanks for your help anyway people! We are pretty happy with the new vehicle.
