95 F250 with 5.8L, where to start?
Hello everyone,
First time in this forum, I'm usually in the Powerstroke forums diggin through there. But seein how my dad just purchases an ol' 95 F250 SC/LB 4x4 with a 351w in it. I figured it wouldnt hurrt becoming a memeber here and learning a little something bout these trucks. For starters the truck is a daily driver, but also a farm truck, need the reliability and MPG's but also need the power to pull the ol' horse trailer and take a bale or two up the pasture. So with that bein said, what and where are some good places to start with some upgrades? Keep in mind I used to own a little H/C/I 306 foxbody, and currently own a highly modified 7.3L powerstroke, so I'm no stranger to the greatness of the ford aftermarket world. just need to which doors to open.. thank yall in advance

The 351w is an excellent motor when it comes to aftermarket parts, as it is such a widely used motor. For a start, an aftermarket exhaust would be a high priority, as the stock exhaust is a real restriction on these trucks. I would put a set of long tube headers on it, put better flowing pipes on it, whether it be a y pipe or true duals, and a better muffler and catalytic converter (if you have to have one that is). After that, I would put in a more aggressive camshaft, I'm sure somebody on here can recommend something that will still let your truck idle. After that, some better flowing heads (gt40 or gt40p) would be the next biggest upgrade as far as the engine goes.
