So a quick recap, one would need a 78ish 2wd power steering box, and a 78/79 pitman arm. The 2 stated correct tie rod ends, and a custom made adjusting sleeve. As far as steering Shaft, a f150 4x4 shaft with the column pushed back an inch. And all plates an bolts of course.

How much of this can be found and bought online or in stores? And how much must be found in a junk yard?

73-79 2wd Box (F-100 to F-350) can be found at junkyards or as a rebuild from a parts store (Core required)...77 1/2 to 79 pitman is used or N.O.S. only now, because it's been obsoleted (Find a guy that's lifted his 77 1/2 to 79 and changed pitmans and grab his)...ES380 R and ES380 L Tie rod ends (New from Parts House)and have a custom adjusting sleeve made out of DOM (Machine Shop...7/8" by 18 Thread Pitch Left and Right threaded)...DO NOT USE REGULAR PIPE!!!...Steering shaft can either be cut and shortened (I don't like this idea)...a used one that is short enough found at junkyard...or a custom one made like Borgeson...On the plate setup...Mine is designed with blind bolts...One is a floater...first plate bolts to box with one bolt...2nd plate is bolted to box with one bolt which goes through 1st plate...3rd plat is a floater (this is going from memory so i may have out of order)...one of the plates it drilled and tapped for bolt that comes from outside of frame through support plate...and all plates are drilled to use the original steering box bolt holes...the one that goes in to the tapped plate goes through the middle of the big hole where the original pitman/output shaft went. Hope this helps!!!
