86 block 73 top end

Hey guys,

I have a full top end(heads, intake, manifolds) from a 1973 460 truck motor. I can get a pretty good 460 short block (I'm going to rebuild the short block if I get it) from a 1986 truck. What kind of issues would I be looking at to try and use the 73 top end on an '86 block?

I'm thinking deck clearance on the block could possibly be an issue.

Shouldn't have any issues. If your heads are D3's then they are virtually identical to what was on the '86 block to begin with.
