I hate it when that happens. Messes up the air filter pleats.

I'm close friends with a die hard Ford guy and a gas engine FANBOY. I mean this guy hated diesels. Dirty, expensive to maintain, loud, and generally more trouble than they are worth. He had a 2000 F-250 with a V-10 in it. He really liked it and swore by it...until he saw my truck. He just bought a 2005 Harley Davidson Edition F-350 with PSD with a Banks 6 gun kit! He just loved the power of my truck...

So maybe some (not all) people buying gas SD's just don't realize how much more power is available? I know my friend is ecstatic with his PSD and will never go back to a gas truck?

I have the diesel and I didn't have these bands.
Maybe it's something that's supposed to be removed during PDI and mine were.

Take the damaged one back to the dealer for a warrenty replacement
