Anybody have the optional A/C?

Anybody have the middle on in this pic, the "Custom" truck air conditioner? Was this considered a dealer install, or something you could buy new? If anybody has it, do you have a pic?

This was the "deluxe" dealer installed a/c unit. It took up the space where the glove box was. An accessory glove box was added below the dash.

3 different types of A/C systems were offered for 1973/79 F100/350 & 1978/79 Bronco.

1) Factory installed Integral A/C is combined with the heater. The A/C controls are located within the same panel as the heater controls.

2) Deluxe dealer installed A/C is combined with the heater. The two A/C switches are located in the HUGE dash bezel that sweeps across the entire right side of the dash, covering up the glove box.

There is a "hang-on" glove box bolted to the bottom of the dash.
---------------------------------------------------------------
3) Economy dealer installed A/C (top pic in brochure) is not combined with the heater. The two A/C switches are located within a panel that also contains two A/C registers.

This panel fits into the dash to the left of the extant glove box.

My first ride, a '73 F-100 Ranger, had the Deluxe A/C in it. I've never seen another like it. Mine didn't have the under-dash glove box, though.

My dealer add on A/C switch panel is located on the dash between the radio and the glove box. It is a woodgrain panel.
