Yep, good points made by all.

I rescued a Jeep Wrangler yesterday! Red, two-seater, electric motor, fit in the bed of my truck great! Plus I lifted that bad boy up there all by myself! I'm sure my son will love it! haha

That's awesome Glenn, wish the 2 OBS strokes that passed me a few months back when my IPR o rings went out would have stopped. But I'm with y'all. I'll stop if I can and it's not a shady situation.

Was bailed out a few times in the desert in Phoenix where both parties made it very clear that firearms were present. That sun does odd things to people! I like my odds with my .45 and 9 hollow points!

Sorta similar Bill, I was going over to Mexico and while walking to the border I found a passport laying on the side of the road. I picked it up and on my way over the border I approach a American border patrol man and he immediately went on the defense. I'm not the cleanest cut man and he of course thought the worst of me until I told him I had found a passport. Then everything was OK, I saved some guy a whole lot of grief getting back into our country!!

Can you imagine trying to get back across the border without a passport!

Man these storys sure do make me feel good. I helped out a girl at colege a couple years ago. She had her hood up when i got out of class. Though she just needed a jump start so i hooked my truck up to it and still got nothing. I wiggled the cable and the threaded insert broke off. It was a side mount battery but also had the top post too. I was going to the parts store any way to get a cb whip for my truck. I bought her a top Mount clamp. All she had was 5 dollars and i didnt want to take that from her. Any way i put that on for her and it fired right up. Made of feel good. I got a hug out of the deal she was so happy she didnt need a new battery.

You only need 1 if it's the right 1. 9+1 if you want to get technical. It's a new Smith.

Sigs are nice but they 'ought to be for their price! You can't go wrong with the Springfield you have. I have had a Springfield XD subcompact 9mm as my carry pistol since they first came out and I still think it is one of the best values on the market. A very compact package, 10+1 in the stock size mag and it has the palm safety that the Glocks don't have. Plus I really like the chamber indicators on the gun. With two fingers you can tell whether the thing is locked and loaded or not, even in the dark. In fact, I had a buddy of mine from the Sheriff's department shot it and he was ready to throw away his Glock after he shot the Springfield. He went through a couple mags and then said "How much are these things!?" They are a really great gun and the XDM is the next step in the progression.

your only getting 8 or 9 in a single stack clip for a smaller 45.

Double stack isn't going to gain you but 4 or 5 more rounds though.

Can't wait for my steyr. 17+1

Agreed the 1911 which has a long grip can only get 7 .45 rounds in a single stack. Some +1 clips you can get will let you get 8 in there but that is pretty long. However, double stack will almost double the capacity of the mag. They don't stack perfectly side by side, but they stagger so that each round is essentially touching two others. You can get A Charles Daly BUL M5, for example which is essentially a 1911 with a double stack 13 round magazine.
