anyone know where I can get the speedo driven gear that goes on end of cable?
my 1961 Econoline 3 speed manual is reading about 5 mph too fast because of aftermarket wheels ( checked with a cool i-phone app!)
anyone got an idea how many teeth to change 1, 2 or?
Your Econoline has a nylon DRIVEN gear. 16 thru 21 teeth are available.
The same nylon DRIVEN gears are used from 1960 into the 1990's in myriad Passenger Cars/Trucks/Bronco's & Econolines. All are available from Ford for less than 5 bucks each.
Reading 5 MPH too fast: Count the number of teeth your gear has, then deduct a tooth. If you list the tooth count of your present gear, I'll give you the Ford part number/price for the one you need.
