65 Ford Truck Side Chrome

Hi, I am a new member of this website & looking for some advice. I am currently restoring a 65 Ford F100 Longbox. I am looking to buy new side chrome. I have tried ordering it from Dennis Carpenter & LMC truck but they say no one makes it anymore. Wondering if anyone knew any other place to buy this. Thanks. Jamie

Jamie, I haven't talked to him about it lately, Rick Allen, Carolina Classics, Durham NC made the parts. Contact him for 1st hand status. Carolina Classics or 800-598-4211

Welcome to FTE

The side mouldings are not chrome, they are anodized aluminum. Reproduced by Carolina Classics (see John's post above).

After a few years, the anodizing begins to fade, eventually turns to a flattish grey color. You can have your original mouldings re-anodized.

Also anodized aluminum: Custom Cab grille, parklamp bezels, taillamp bezels used on 1964/66 F100/250 2WD & 1966 F100 4WD Styleside Custom Cabs, same as 1966/77 Bronco.

1965/66 F100/250: The front fender emblems are chrome with red plastic inserts marked (depending on which model): Ranger / FOUR WHEEL DRIVE / TWIN-I-BEAM / CAMPER SPECIAL

1965 is not reproduced, 1966 is. The difference: 1965 has FORD 100 (or 250) above the emblem // 1966 has FORD above, 100 (or 250) at the bottom, encompassed within the emblem.

Box Side Moulding/Long Bed

I have been trying to find this trim and I have tried Carolina Classics and no luck. I wanted to see if anyone has very good ones as I have just finished a frame up restoration.

I have a complete set, would need a couple small dings straightened and re-anodized or polished if you're building a show truck or concours restoration. Good as is for a driver.

I sent you a message but never heard from you. I have a complete set of 65-66 side trim. The trim was polished to a beautifull shine. No dents no Dings. It is for a long bed. No clips

Ford Trim

Thanks gangstakr I sent you an email. I was wondering how much you would want for the trim & also would you be willing to sell just pieces of it or you looking to sell it all as a set. Thanks.

So, did I read it right? DC does NOT have the aluminum side moldings any longer?

side moldings

Hello Guys,
I'm in the same kind of situation. I bought all available pieces (bed, cowl and hood) in April and was told the door and cab corner pieces would become available in 30 days. Now I'm stuck with the new parts not beeing able to complete the set. Does anybody know if Carolina Classics does no longer make these missing parts for sure? My calls go directly to voice mail and I have no response on emails.

Any idea?

Thanks for your help
Christian

Chris, I was a little late coming close by yesterday. I will try to go by his shop or call him in the next day or so. If I forget please remind me.

AFAIK, the mouldings are no longer being reproduced. The mouldings were reproduced by Carolina Classics who sold them to the other repro parts sellers and to the general public alike.

Other repro parts sellers include: Blue Oval Truck Parts / Carpenter / NPD (National Parts Depot) / Mac's Antique Auto Parts / Auto Krafters / LMC / Classic Auto Parts / John's F Fun Hundreds / The Truck and Car Shop.

It's possible one or all (except Carpenter) may still have these mouldings.

I found the left cab corner moulding NOS (New Old Stock). The source ships "across the pond" by Fed-Ex.

C5TZ-81423A17-A .. Left Cab Corner Moulding / Obsolete / 1965/66 F100/250.

GREEN SALES CO. in Cincinnati OH has ONE = 513-731-3304 / greensalescompany.com

Genuine Ford mouldings came with the clips.
=================================
C5TZ-81423A16-A .. Right Cab Corner Moulding / Obsolete

C5TZ-8120938-A Right & C5TZ-8120939-A Left .. Door Mouldings / Obsolete

No Ford Dealer or obsolete parts vendor has any.

Chris, I stopped in at Carolina Classics today and spoke to Rick. Bottom line he is hoping to have complete sets of molding by Dec. 1st this year.

He has some pieces in stock, hood, short bed but no long bed.

He has Red Twin I-beam, Custom Cab inserts.

Call him daytime eastern time to ask questions direct.

Carolina Classics

Dear John,

Thanks you so much for this information.
I won't have any paint job done before December anyways.

Did he mention if he only produces every once in a while or is the tooling the problem?

@ Numberdummy, thanks for finding the source of the cab corner molding. I'll check on pricing for the part and shipping to Germany...!

Again I appreciate all your help
Christian
