Is this right?

I'm in the market for an Ex, and I thought I would seek this forums wisdom. I found this 2005 diesel 4x4 2005 Ford Excursion Limited, $26,500 - Cars.com

Now it says it's a 2005 but i'm pretty sure it has a pre 2005 front end, I checked the vin in carfax and ford, they also call it a 05, soooooo did they release some 05's with the older front end in late 04? I'm baffled at this point, I think the price is a little high but first things first.

I do like the 7.3 but..... I'm looking for about 100,000 less, 4x4, tan, white,or silver.

No it's not right....

That's not the right front end on that truck which tells me it's been in an accident (a bad one at that) or some moron didn't like the '05 front end.

As for Tim...we'll have to show tim-tim what happens when he tries to leave the family....

There's definitely something up with that Excursion. The entire front end is switched over to the older setup. Also, that's not pueblo gold, it's mineral gray.

I talked to the sales guy and he looked at the mfr date, he said it was 11/04 and the carfax shows no accidents. I'm still concerned about the front end. I would imagine the 05 production would have had the new body in June of 04. And all carfax proves is there was no accident "reported ". Reno is a long drive for me, it seems hard to find an ex with under a million miles debating on driving out there to check it out. Do you guys think $23k is a fair price?

You assumption is correct...all 05s received the same front end. I wonder what the previous bozo owner was thinking with putting that front end on there. I would offer 18 or 19 because of that front end alone.

Looking at the pictures again, I noticed that the mirrors are not correct either.

The oldest MY that Excursion could be is an '03. Limited, Mineral Gray Excursions debuted for the 2003 model year. Even if it was an '03, that doesn't explain the front end.

A lot of dealers are asking whatever they want for low mileage Excursions. I have seen that mileage with a higher price. Isn't that an 06-07 grill? If you are patient you can find one cheaper, but it will have 40-60k more miles.

x2.

Mine is '05 built in Oct/Nov '04. I've got the "new" front end.
I've seen numerous on-line adds for '05 Excursions (EB & Limited)
with the "chrome" '05 grill too - which IMO is a sign of a wreck too.

It's possible they posted the wrong pictures - but for $25k
would you TRUST someone posting the wrong pictures!!!
