ficm

I have a 2003 6.0 and my ficm is going bad. I have a good ficm from a 2006 truck and was wondering if i can put it on my 03 with no problems? Thanks

What I do know is each FICM is programmed to the specific vehicle. You would have to take it somewhere to get it programmed for your vehicle, assuming there wasn't a change in the FICM between the model years.

4 screw and 7 screw FICM's will interchange. There can be a software issue between FICM and PCM depending on the version. If so it will run but set a code for software compatibility. Most of the time they work with no issues.

Drats! You're gonna need a flash from the dealer to fix it (they will flash all three modules). Power Hungry Performance or Ed@FICM repair.com can flash just the FICM but you have to send it to them. they also offer performance flashes the dealer doesn't have which is a plus. If you still have your old FICM maybe you could send it in for repair and possibly upgrade. I don't know what issues driving long term with the software incompatibility may cause but obviously you want that light out.
