3G alt info for my I6

My truck has what looks like a 3g 95 amp alt from factory.

96 f150 manual everything including trans and has the straight six.

My stereo is dimming my lights terribly bad. Brand new interstate battery.

I want a better alt. Will a large case alt fit without modification?

There seems to be a lot of info, but none on the straight six guys.

It looks like I have a small case alt.

I got 2 foxes and a sn95 so I know 3g alt info pretty well. and plan on running 0 gauge wire to the battery and doing everything the right way.

Any info is appreciated!!

What will bolt right in??

Look at the very bottom of the Tech info thread at the top of this forum. There is a very good thread that covers alot of options when switching to 3G from 2G but it also lists what fits where. You would probably be fine with the 130.

seems like i have a pivot mount 3g 95 amp small casing alternator.

Ford never made these in a large case 130 amp style??

It looks to be the same style as the 460.

I'm not upgrading to 3g.

I'm trying to upgrade my current 3g to a large cased pivot mount. thatll fit but cant find any info on what cars came with a large cased pivot mount 130 amp. WTF ford? I got 2 extra alternators from my 5.0 mustang that are 3g, do i gotta make my own bracket so i can fit a alt the 5.0/5.8 guys used when they upgraded to 130 amp 3g?

I've read the taurus one has the same one but theyre 95 amp too.

Some 90, any 91-92, and any 93-95 3.8 Taurus
It should look like this:

guys i feel stupid. There was a open hole in my alternator bracket that would allow the 12 o clock-6 oclock mounting style like the link you sent me above. wow dude i cant believe i missed the fact there were 2 different alts that would fit the bracket. Thanks guys!!!!!
