99 4.6 windsor in 97 4.6 windsor?

Found a good used engine (wrecked) 99 4.6 windsor "pi" but was wondering if it would fit/work perfectly in my 97 4.6 windsor "npi"?
Thought it would be a good training module for rebuilding and end up with a spare or sale it.

Sounds like you have started a fun project. You would want the wire harness.
