93 F150 Gas Pedal

I was wondering if anyone could help me with a problem with my recently purchased 1993 Ford F150 5.0 4x4. The gas pedal is very hard to push down, and I'm afraid that it will stick. What can I do to help correct this problem?

welcome to FTE!!
it sounds like the throttle cable is semi seized.
try disconnecting the cable from the pedal and the throttle body. if the throttle body and pedal move easy, the cable is your problem.
