Youd have to have an OBS with more than a tuner to beat up on a stock 6.0 lol. Iv got an intake, exhaust, and tuner on the 7.3 Ex and itd be a close race.

My truck now will take one, but not before this past summer! LOL Ruby even scares me a little on the 140hp tune. She flat gets out of control, or so it feels like.

I'm guessing it caused $10k or so in damage when you pour it into the DEF tank. Since it says blue def on the bottle, I'm guessing we'll hear about it happening sooner or later.

I just tell them I'll race them to a half million miles on the odometer. That will usually shut them up.

Heck, Iv had so low interest in the 6.0l, Im considering keeping it as my DD to keep the miles off the 7.3 and "possibly" putting a small lift and tires on it after the dually project. I took it to a dealership for craps and giggles and they offered me $3000 trade in... Ill yank the motor and drop a Cummins in there before I let it go that cheap. Heck, Id make it a parts truck before I did that!
You still have the 6.0 Ex? I thought that went away.

I mean longevity. Yea the run but at what cost? Reliability is key as you know.

My dad was looking at a 03 250 6blow. 15900$ I told him I would be hard pressed to give 5k. Life is just too short to have that negatity in my life.

It sucks but I just dont feel they are a viable option. not since I got shafted working them at the dealership when they first came out. There is no fixing...just bandaids and bubble gum.

I do have to disagree with this statement. If you got shafted, understandable. But, like our trucks, they have been out for a while now. The newest 6.0 is going to still be 9 years old. That's a lot of time to get the bugs worked out and get modifications where they need to be. A lot of guys have done really well with the bulletproofing have some very reliable nice running trucks. JMO of course, but there is something to be said for being able to take a poor design and make it reliable and even a good performer.

I hear you. Chalk it up to bad experience. Agree to disagree.

Its still alive and kicking. Must be one of the "good ones" (let the flaming begin)

If I had to do it over again, Id buy my 7.3 Ex first, but theres really nothing wrong with 6.0s. Im not going to be like the 6.0 owners and preach "Theyre just as reliable as anything" but I will say they will last awhile if taken care of and forever if bulletproofed. I mean mine has 267k and its not bulletproofed. That says something

Itd be a tough call as to whether Id buy another V10 or 6.0 if I had the choice

To each his own

I always tell people that you could give me a 6.0 for free, and I still couldn't afford to own it. I have too many friends that have gotten burned on them.

The bottom line is you have to know your stuff about them and know how to work on them just like anything else.
