The law was changed at some point for diesel, so technically you are allowed to pump your own diesel here, and I do most of the time, but they tend to give you the stink-eye the whole time...
I always fill my own too. At first the attendants were a bit squirrely. They got over it when I explained it was slow filling and I was tired of getting diesel on my flatbed from an inattentive attendant, who doesn't listen when I warn them.

My 97 fuels just fine, even used the large nozzle a few times it didn't even fit very well but filled it up pretty fast. Only problem is when I go to pay the bill

yeah, its an SNL skit from the late 80's when TV rules were must stricter.

Well Mike delivered some disheartening news last night. The cores didn't make it to him yesterday. Which if the ins co picks up his truck Mon, the stage 2's are headed to the scrap yard. Thanks a bunch US postal service for your guaranteed overnight delivery.

That should be good for a claim against USPS!

Richard, not sure what the rollover valves are? I've been thru my 96 and I'm not sure what that is.

I'm not sure, but I think he's talking about the little spring loaded flapper at the mouth of the filler neck. I may be wrong on that though.
