I've never seen garage sales like this before. Retirement community and when people want to upgrade they practically give away their stuff at a garage sale or put it by the street for free. I know of people who come down here and fill trailers up to take back up north and sell for thousands more. For example, I bought a bedroom outfit for 400 that sold new for 5k!

This is what my wife and I do. We did the whole "have a big house" thing and it just wasn't worth it to us. We now have a life and free time and money!! It came with some sacrifices, but it is sooooooo worth it to us and we love the lifestyle. Do it!! They make ones that are bigger than one bedroom apartments.

I thought you lived in a camper!

I love the idea of buying a camper for cheap and having everything necessary to move right in. Park it where you want and your good. If you wanna move, hook er up, bring up the jacks and your off! You could live somewhere new every night if you wanted. Not to mention the "house" payment would be a fraction of a regular house and at a far less term, your heating/ac bill will be probably 1/4, and with a camper you wont be tempted to buy a bunch of crap you wont really use in the first place!

I love the idea but my gf is more worried about storage than anything... I told her what doesn't fit can get throwed away/gave away or sold lol. She didn't seem to have the same optimism as me lol

I did some looking around for fun and found a hell of a nice camper! Its the Cedar Creek Cottage. 40 foot, 3 slides (2 opposing slides in the living room and 1 in the bedroom) and a ton of windows! I fell in love but theyre going for between $55,000 and $70,000... I could literally buy a brand new single wide for that much lol

If I weren't married I'd probably have 5 gallon buckets to sit on in my living room, lol. (and 1 or 2 sweet trucks)

We've been doing the used furniture thing for a awhile. This is the first stuff that we bought new. The only reason we bought it was because they had a 40% off sale! We bought another repo house so we got a sweet deal on it. There is some gamble to it, but as long as the nothing major is broken we should be good.

Just remember that living in a camper gets old after awhile. I got all the necessary stuff, can even park on top of a mountain and get internet. We have lived in ours six months out of the year for the past ten years. If you do get one, get a camper where the slides go out at least three foot, makes much more room. Also, get one that can stand the cold down to at least zero. And of course, get a OBS to pull it, LOL

Well, the cost of a new one can be that much for sure. If you really think about it, they are sort of a single wide! Lol...but yeah, get a lot of input before you do it. You'll get many different views. We had a few different reasons when we started doing it and we just see no other way right now. It might change in a year or two, but for now, it works well for us and our lifestyle.
