Glenn, I'm surprised that you don't see at least a little drop in egt's when the water comes on. It takes a lot of energy to boil/heat water. Yeah, I've heard its hard to keep egt's down with anything larger than stage 1's while towing.
Nate, if it was tannerite, it was the big pile of the stuff. I've used that stuff before. Its fun. I have some neighbors that shoot all summer, but I didn't think it was them since it was pouring rain at the time.

Phil, I wish I could be more precise in explaining this. In experimenting I have turned off the water and when I see a hill coming up I'll run it up to about 1400° and flip on the water. Its run by boost but I can turn it off and on. When I turn it on I can see the needle on my EGT gauge start to fludder so I know its working. It might slowly start dropping, about the same way it will slowly drop when you downshift. I just can't put a number to it. David Lott at Diesel Innovations told me the same thing when I was thinking about buying the expensive IC. He said that he was not going to say 100° drop or anything like that. He said you could run it on several trucks and get different results. I think at this point in time they both help but I'll know more after live tuning in June. If live tuning doesn't get it down enough then Jim said he could downgrade my injectors. Tuning can downgrade them too but at this point I don't know what to do. I also think HPOP's help a lot and the HBJ is not working out, way to many 1211's. Last year I had some 1211's with the T500. I ordered a adrenaline today, if that doesn't do it I'll get duals next winter.

I would think there would be a standard baseline rating for these types of parts, but maybe that's just the engineer in me coming out. I think detuning will only get you so far. I think a big part of the problem is the nozzle size. Low HPO pressure could be contributing also. (Which reminds me, have you ever had your res. run empty on a hard pull?)
To me, it sounds like you have two options if the live tuning doesn't help:
1) Go to smaller nozzles on the injectors, or
2) Get the dual HPOP's and a twin turbo set up.
I've heard you say before that you didn't want a 400 series turbo because they are laggy, and it seems the 300 series can't move enough air to keep it cool. So you need a twin turbo setup if you want to keep running the stage IIs.

Well, my son is 5 months old today. He's weighing in at 17 lbs and 26-1/2" tall.

Yea, I know, I just like to bitch once in awhile! LOL My gut is telling me that live tuning is a big, big part of the solution (equation).
"an equation is an equality containing one or more variables. Solving the equation consists of determining which values of the variables make the equality true".
