It was a rare gorgeous October weekend here. Mid 60's, sunny, a bit of a breeze. So I took the old but sexy out and washed and polished it up to get some winter protection on there.
looking good bill! can mine be next? its looking cruddy from dd use lately.
Helped my dad again today on moving from the farm. Got my M farmall loaded and home. IM a whipped puppy fellas. I will be relieved to have this mess behind me and hope he gets rid of a crap load of stuff...otherwise someday I am going to inherit a mess myself.

Thanks fellas. 18 year old (mostly, as the bed was redone) factory paint cleaned up really nice. I just gave it a round of compound to get the most grievous scratches off, then hit it with my Griot's "One Step" Sealant. Supposed to give better protection than wax alone, so we'll put it to the test this winter. I use it on my show truck with good results, so I figured I'd try it here too.
Bill - I have been looking for that factory striping, and so far the sources I've checked tell me it's obsolete. Not giving up just yet though, as it would be a nice touch.
I know this may not be everybodys cup of tea and definitely not practical but I just like big fords even if they still have PUSH PULL STEERING!!!! Ford F 350 XLT | eBay

Try at a Ford dealership if you haven't already. If they don't have it, ask around some of the local paint and body shops, they may have a good source.

I dunno, always a sucker for a Dentside man. Love those old trucks.

I will do that. I have looked mostly at online sources so far - going slow since the half-ton takes paint priority this winter.
Ahh yea! I love those 78-79s with the square headlights. Id like to get me a crew cab and drop a 7.3 in it, but that's a dream
He says he got 12 mpg My '02 F-150 with 6" lift and 36s wouldn't get over 9
There's a couple guys floating around with dentsides and bumpsides with newer diesels in them on the show circuit I hit. One is a 69 or 70 dentside with a 6.0L and a manual behind it, the other is a 7.3L auto. RCLB trucks too. Pretty sweet swaps, both guys did them well.
