I would love to delve into a muscle car. Maybe someday when I get these trucks done.

Who am I kidding, they'll never be finished

LOL!!! You got that right! I have two projects partially started, nothing getting done to either of those right now. Another project in my head, that if I run across the right deal on an OBS Bronco, will become the third, and constantly thinking of things I want to do to the truck I drive. I don't have the money, time or room to do any of it right now, but just the thoughts of all of them is what keeps me going! LOL! It's got to be some sort of sickness we have! LOL!

Ah man that's one of my faves, especially in a wagon model.

I actually painted that car! The original owner tracked me down and made me an offer I couldn't refuse! When he came to pick it up, he pulled the original keys out of his pocket and started it up,

That's a gorgeous car, Kevin. It looks really clean! I'm a big fan of the late 60's Mustangs. My personal favorite is the '68 Mach 1 with Black on candy apple red and a Shaker hood scoop. If I ever have the money to blow and the opportunity to have one, that's what I will have.

Thomas, I'd say that would be enough to cause your issues! I'm guessing you're about right on your estimate for the temperature on the steels. I'd say you were looking at about 575-600*. And yeah, you definitely need to get us some more pictures of the Ambassador when you get it on the road again. Looks like you came home with a nice little load of loot! Good luck getting the car back together.

JP, that's a nice looking rig you have there. Kinda makes you sick to see the carnage that one stupid tire can cause. I went ahead and replaced the tires on our pop-up before we went to RRE just so I could avoid that kind of thing. I've read some places that they recommend you replace the tires on the campers every 2-3 years. They take a lot of abuse and it seems it is usually the weather that takes a toll on them more than the miles. It's frustrating spending that money on tires that look decent, but it's cheap insurance I guess.

That a.) doesn't look like the right kind of bed bolt and b.) was entirely too loose. The bolt had to be a good 5" long through the floor (just the part exposed underneath). Ran it back on and tightened it, but in the meantime I plan on replacing this setup with the SD "J" clips and torx head bolts that one can tighten from up on top. Grabbed a set on eBay from a shop that does utility bed takeoffs for about $50.

I'd like more information on these "J" clips. I could use something like that when I put the bed on my 96, which hopefully will happen later this week or next.

Kevin- I would love to have one of those sitting in my shop! That is gorgeous!

Nick, I'd suggest laying off the sauce! That sounds terrible. I had one night (it was my bachelor party) that I had too much. I regret it to this day. It pretty much led to me deciding to never drink again. I did have some a few times after that night, but it bothered me so bad that something you drink could take over like that, that I soon decide just to quit all together. I have never regretted that decision.
