the official OBS diesel off topic thread
Need your guys' opinion:
Ye or ney? Check out the mirrors
After towing my fair share of trailers, I am under the impression you can never have too much mirror! The only downside is theyre always fully extended unlike the towing mirrors like on my dually in my sig. But Im usually not trying to squeeze my truck in tight spaces lol
Heres the actual mirror Im looking at. These are only $10 more than the mirror extenders like Thomas has
The outside of the mirror portion is 12" from the cab and the mirror itself is 10.25" x 5.5"

Went to Aaron's this weekend, trans is done! Hopefully will put it in and have it running this week. Would like to drive it a little before the snow flies. Even came home with some extra goodies:

The trans on the right is the Borg Warner M-12 that Aaron rebuilt, the one on the left is a TH 400 out of a Jeep, it has an AMC bell housing. Also got a tail gate for the white beast, the one on mine is beat up and this one was practically rust free. It was a great trip. Needless to say the Scoobie was squating just a bit
Heres some pics of the carnage, makes sense why it wasnt working:

We found a chart on google that tells metal temp by color, we estimate that this seperater got to between 500 and 600 degrees.
This clutch is spose to be flat:

Yes it is! Sometimes I think I'd like to have another muscle car or hot rod, but I'm so into the diesel stuff anymore, I just don't have the room or time for another project. The last car like that I had was in '93, I had a '66 Fairlane with a mildly built 302. It was a solid southern car in primer, just needed paint. That's one I wish I would have kept.
