Not if you don't do them everyday and the two bolts in the cylinder are frozen and the heads are striped off. The drums were also frozen on the hubs. Interesting fact for who ever gives a fart, the dually drums are 12 and 1/8", the rest are 12" Come on, more braking from a 1/8 wider drum? At least they are 3 1/2 " wide shoes instead of 3". Its $1,100 for disk brakes and $130 to fix the drum brakes. I'm spending way to much for other stuff.

I love drum brakes.especially these.i bought the special hold down spring too years ago and they are done likkedy split. Takes longer to turn the drums...
Glenn, ill come do them for ya...but you have to do that mind thing for me so I can see it! Haha
Ya, LOL Aaron, that wouldn't have hurt my auto either. Sorry to hear that Talyn, bummer! Couldn't you smell it before all the fuel?

When I was given that 'gift' I was told it would not work in front of anybody else or I would lose it, LOL

I would not have any fun driving that row, row, row your boat.Wont do it.

I have stated it before...I Will NOT have a stick. I litteraly replaced stacks of dmf in the late 90's and early 2000's...Seen plenty of carnage, replaced hydraullic parts, rebuilt clutch pedal assys more than I want to even think about. I will take my auto anyday! You can have ALL the fun (if you wanna call it that) for me.

My last stick was a cobra convertable that I built a real nice engine and had a tremec.Sure it was fun...for about 5 mins....I just dont enjoy it like i did 15 yrs ago.IM sorry,I feel like a big sissy but no thanks.

Glenn, aww cumon,I need to see your gift! Oh no,that didnt sound right..
how about your skills?

Wish me luck,IF I am not too sick tommorrow I am going to try to fix these door lock solenoids...

Oh man, good luck! i've done that before and its no fun at all. When I bought the mare (dually) he gave me receipts and it showed two of them being replaced and one power window motor. Right now I have all four doors working and I sure hope it stays that way!

Finally made it so I can view the internet using my new 50" TV. So much nicer to sit back in my recliner and watch u fools arguing about autos, manuals, and drum brakes when it's on big screen. Lol

My only addition to the trans arguement is I will not be owning an auto trans daily driver at any point in the foreseeable future. Just costs too much money to have them hold additional power reliably and I don't seem to be capable of having a DD at stock power levels. Only reason I'm swapping to auto in mine is because it's soon to no longer be a daily driver. Plus worrying about trans temps while towing just isn't something I want to jack with. Lol

While your tearing everything apart, check the wiring in those rear doors where they hinge where people have been saying the issues are.

Preventative maintenece.

Hahaha.

He's gonna be driving around with like 20 cores in the back. Aww ****. Blew a trans.

Just whips one out of the back and swaps it in in like 5 mins.

Okay, we ready to go!

J/k =)

Auto's are cool, They just seem weird in these trucks.

If I had a family vehicle or a put put car, i'd go for an auto.
I'd even consider an auto in a thooper duty, cause the 4r100 is a bit more stout.

But if its my DD or my fun car, I want absolute fun and control.
