the official OBS diesel off topic thread
I know what you mean Darin. I have to be careful where and when I say this, but I really don't mind the winters here. I enjoy the changing of seasons regardless of which season it is, and by the same token, by the time the seasons change I'm usually ready for a change.
Sheesh, Rick. Hope you stay safe from that mess.
You know, I was having this conversation with a buddy last night that for all the cold we see here in the winter Ohio isn't a bad place to live. No wildfires, no earthquakes, only an occasional tornado, no hurricanes, no bugs as big as your hand, no poisonous snakes, and nothing in your back yard that is liable to eat you! I guess it's just not too exciting, lol.

Lol, yeah. That probably sounded like, yep, check, uh-huh, yep, and not that one. to you guys in LA huh? Y'all got your fair share of wild critters down there! At lest it isn't boring huh!
I guess we all like our respective homes for good reason and that's why we choose to live where we do. I struggle and always will. I love love love my California home, but when we come to Texas to visit family and run around, I could see myself living here too. I have before, but then suffered ocean withdrawals in a bad way..LOL!! If I was still riding horses for a living, it would probably be Texas...but then again California has the weather that allows a cowboy to get more done in a day than Texas does due to extreme heat and then extreme cold and icestorms in the winter. See what I mean?! LOL!! It's always something.
I'm like Indiana Jones. Why did it have to be snakes. Lol. I hate them with a passion.
For me ohio is home. I love the seasons and I love our big/little city. I love many other parts of the country as well. The eastcoast, south, Midwest, southwest and west all have respective places in my heart. However, THEYRE NOT HOME. Lol. I just need to be super rich and travel like I did in my teens and 20's.

Still too close. I'd be dropping in mortar fire from a VERY safe distance...
I like NE Indiana. We've got rivers and lakes, flat land for farming, some rolling hills for ranching, woods for hunting and plenty of wildlife filling the woods. For the most part our winters aren't terrible either.
I also really like Wisconsin. Its a lot like Indiana, lol.
Speaking of travelling. In about a week I'll be driving to Mrytle Beach, SC. What's the best route from NE IN to there?
