I wonder if the correct number is stored in the PCM? I know ford made the updated dash counter to display the correct number, but I'm not sure if I want to get it, seeing this!

IIRC seems that, that is not correct, but really IDK; does anybody with dash in Kilometers (not Miles), has the same issue?, and when? Mine is in Kms.
Looking back at some older threads, which seem to pop up around the time somebody hits the illusive 400k
The mileage is stored in the psom. Its actually stored in the cluster itself. Someone did mention it's quite possible to read this hooked up to a scanner, since the psom chip might communicate with the PCM, but the PCM doesn't physically hold the mileage in memory.
Maybe someone with AE can test this out for us? I wonder if it's possible to get a gauge that would show the correct mileage from the psom chip... OR find out if ford created a fix for this, and just isn't telling us!
Id like for it to read the real miles. Id buy a new dash for it! I was thinking about taking the dash apart and writing a 4 over the 3 lol.
Did Ford not expect these engines to go over 400,000? Lol
If you've ever seen some classic cars, the odometer doesn't even roll over 99,999. They never expected cars to be able to reach even 100k miles 60 years ago!

Yeah, but they also didn't drive nearly as much as we do now on a daily basis. They went to the store once a week, worked close to where they lived, and seldom had time/money for cross-country vacations. Ahhhh, the good old days!
This is true, but people had their own farms and houses were spread out, not crammed right next to each other. Driving to town and back might have been 20 miles round trip for some people. Even where I used to live, 20 miles to town was just getting there! Add's up pretty quick. Nearest walmart was almost an hour away before about they put one up outside of town.
Nick, Im confused, you said, if I understood well, that your truck had rolled over once, and now the odo reads 340K, so now it has 740K?? = a 460K miles?
Well Guys I found out they moved the F100 Supernational about 100 miles further away from me next year and in a place with not a lot of choices on lodging. This make me not even want to go now. The bad thing is I have already paid the registration fee.
